Hi Welcome! 

 

My name is Lorraine and I own and run My Sewing Shack.

I have always enjoyed sewing and have been sewing for over 30 years, yes that long!  When I was in my late teens to early 20's, I made a huge amount of clothes for myself ranging from tops, skirt-suits to evening wear.  In my 30's I did a course in curtain making and soft furnishings which I was proud to receive a diploma. 

 

I turned my focus to smaller projects and accessories

  How it all started 

I bought a Brother embroidery sewing machine back in 2002 when my two sons were very small and I soon discovered how addictive machine embroidery really is!  I made several outfits for my sons and quite a lot of gifts for family and friends all of which featured machine embroidered designs.

​

I did all this in between working full time in London, looking after my family and I had a dog at the time too.

 

   My passion 

Fast forward to 2020 a year we will never forget!  As we were in lockdown I was able to utilise this time to create a website and also do a lot more of what I loved - sewing.  I was excited to open my own online shop.  I love being creative and I'm passionate about the projects I make. 

 

These range from stunning personalised handmade gifts for newborns to blankets and Christmas stockings for all members of the family including our fur babies.   

 

What's in store for 2024 

I have been playing with designs and the sewing aspect and I'm looking forward to sharing some of these with you very soon.
